Female emcee, Suzy Rock, just recently released her first single from the forthcoming Vanity Suxx EP. This song is an addition to her previously released teaching series entitled “Dirty Little Secrets”. Now if you know anything about me, I’ve always been an advocate of authenticity, honesty, and liberation. You can tell from some of my previous work my stance on this by songs like Free, Hide & Seek, and Confessional to name a few. One of the biggest things that I’ve had to continually face in my life has been truly seeing myself for who I am, and more importantly how God sees me. Its a daily fight at times but one of the concepts I’ve learned to embrace, as hard as it is at times, is confession, and confessing the hard things… especially those “dirty little secrets”. So naturally, I was drawn to investigate what it was that Suzy had to say in this series. After listening to the 6 part series, I was highly encouraged and pleased with the candor and honesty of it all as she talked to women about her struggles with leaving a same-sex relationship, practical ways to walk away from different forms of idolatry, and how she was able see the Love of God through it all. I encourage you to give it a listen especially if you’re currently feeling the weight of all those secrets you might be holding on to, which are actually holding you hostage.
